The book of Psalms is the Bible's inspired hymnbook—a collection of songs, prayers, and poems written by multiple authors over hundreds of years. While many psalms were written by David, others were penned by Moses, Solomon, Asaph, the sons of Korah, and other faithful servants of God.
The Psalms capture the full range of human experience. Within these pages, we find expressions of joy and sorrow, confidence and doubt, thanksgiving and lament. They teach us how to worship God, trust Him in difficult seasons, and praise Him in every circumstance. They also point us to Jesus. Many psalms contain prophecies and themes that find their fulfillment in Christ, revealing God's plan of redemption throughout Scripture.
For generations, believers have turned to the Psalms for comfort and encouragement. As we journey through this book together, may these psalms strengthen your prayer life and draw you closer to the Lord.
